So far so good. I've been able to stick to it, even through a couple of high-stress moments. The craving that catches me by surprise every so often is a lot like the feeling of being unable to take a breath after being underwater too long. A sort of hollow quakey feeling in the sternum area. All I can say is that it goes away sooner or later and the best you can do is find something to distract yourself.
The patches continue to supply nicotine while I keep on breaking the habit of lighting up. In six weeks I am supposed to drop from the 21mg/day patches to the 14mg/day; then six weeks later, to the 7mg/day. I was doubtful that the 21's would be enough, since they were rated for 10 cigarettes per day and up, while my habit was 80 and I smoked them to get all I could: double-hits and hold my breath until there wasn't much smoke left. They don't completely eliminate the craving, but they take enough of the edge off that I can deal with the rest (so far).
