Msen has several account options. As such, we have several policies on timing-out (hanging up) on users.
Premium Personal IP accounts are a metered service. As such, we do not timeout users, except per their request. (To request this, contact service@msen.com.)
MsenLite accounts are timed-out after 8 hours. This should be long enough for most gaming or FTP sessions.
There are several reasons to timeout users. The simplest and shortest answer is personal dialup services are not dedicated lines. If you are interested in dedicated or unmetered modem services, please see our Dedicated Services Page or the Unmetered option in our Premium Personal IP service.
